Paying off those Pesky Credit Cards

6 Tips to get them gone. For good.

So you have a credit card with a balance. You are making payments every month, but you just can't seem to get them paid off. As of 2012, 2 out of 5 Americans were in the same boat: that's 39% of Americans that hold a revolving credit card balance of some kind. In addition as of 2013, the average balance Americans have on their credit cards is right about $4,800. What's interesting about this is that in a March 2013 survey, 85% of respondents said that they would be very unlikely to talk to a stranger about their credit card debt, more likely in fact to talk to a stranger about religion, love life status, politics and salary.

Financing Your Home Improvement Projects

Thinking about some Larger Home Improvements?

What to consider if thinking about a Cash-out Refinance to finance your Home Improvement Projects.

Home values are increasing and interest rates are still near historic lows. Corelogic's November 2013 Home Price Index Report found that September 2013 marked the 19th consecutive month of year-over-year home price gains. Consecutive Month of Year-Over-Year Home Price Gains.  The demand for quality housing is also rising as more and more homes are coming on the market that are actually (you guessed it) selling. You may finally qualify for a refinance when you might not have in the past. This means that now is a great time to think about increasing your home's value even further with home improvements. What could a $10,000 kitchen remodel do to increase the value of your home? Would finally adding that second bathroom mean your home would sell more quickly at a much higher price tag? What about turning that basement into a livable family area? Even if you plan to stay in your home for the next 30 years, increasing your home's value by making smart home improvement investments should always be a priority to you as a homeowner.
